Bali's 'Red and White' Village Cooperatives Record Transactions of Rp765.76 Million as of May 2026
Denpasar (ANTARA) - The Red and White Village Cooperatives (KDMP) in Bali have recorded a transaction value of Rp765.76 million as an initial performance indicator up to May 2026. “The KDMP in Bali have had an economic impact on the community,” said Supendi, Head of the Regional Office of the Directorate General of Treasury for Bali Province, in Denpasar on Friday. KDMP units have now been established in all villages and sub-districts across Bali, comprising 636 village cooperatives and 80 sub-district cooperatives, bringing the total to 716 units. He detailed that all 716 KDMP units in Bali have obtained a tax identification number (NPWP). Of that total, 496 have secured a business identification number (NIB) and 238 cooperatives have opened accounts. The DJPb Bali noted that the transaction value originated from 32,327 transactions conducted by the cooperatives, with principal savings reaching Rp900.96 million and mandatory savings amounting to Rp303.70 million. The highest number of KDMP units in Bali is in Buleleng Regency with 148 units, followed by Tabanan Regency with 133 units. Karangasem Regency has 78 units, Bangli 72, Gianyar 70, Klungkung 59, Jembrana 51, Badung 64, and Denpasar has 43 KDMP units. Several KDMP in Bali have also established agency partnerships with state-owned enterprises (BUMN) to support market expansion. The BUMNs with potential for cooperation include those in the food sector, particularly rice, as well as fertiliser, oil and gas, and pharmaceuticals. Previously, the central government allocated 58.03 per cent of the 2026 Village Fund budget, or Rp34.57 trillion, for the development of KDMP, out of a total Village Fund allocation set at Rp60.57 trillion for 2026. The use of Village Funds to support KDMP implementation includes instalment payments for the physical construction of outlets, warehouses, and other KDMP facilities. The remaining Village Fund ceiling, outside of that used to support KDMP, is allocated as a regular budget amounting to Rp25 trillion. This policy is regulated in the Minister of Finance Regulation (PMK) Number 7 of 2026, signed by Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa.
