Operational flight activity at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport will be temporarily halted beginning Thursday 19 March 2026 at 06:00 WITA until Friday 20 March 2026 at 06:00 WITA.

This operational closure forms part of the airport’s commitment to support and respect the observance of the sacred Hindu holiday Nyepi on the island of Bali.

According to Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) number A0096 issued by Perum LPPNPI/AirNav Indonesia, all regular commercial flight activity at the airport will be suspended from Thursday, 19 March 2026 at 06:00 WITA until Friday, 20 March 2026 at 06:00 WITA.

This statement was issued by Nugroho Jati, General Manager of PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (InJourney Airports) at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, according to an official press release on Monday 16 March 2026.

He added that during this period, there will be no regular flights departing from or arriving at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport.

In coordination with airlines, AirNav Indonesia, the Regional Airport Authority Office Region IV, and other relevant agencies, the airport is ensuring smooth operations before and after the Nyepi period.

Nugroho stated that flight schedule adjustments have been communicated to passengers by their respective airlines.

“The temporary suspension of airport operations during Nyepi has been carried out routinely every year, enabling the Hindu community on the island of Bali to observe the Catur Brata Penyepian (Four Sacred Vows of Silence) with reverence,” he said.

He added that the airport has coordinated with all stakeholders to ensure that service to airport users remains optimal before and after the operational suspension period.

Although flight operations will be halted, Nugroho continued, a number of airport personnel will remain on standby to support emergency flight operations.

During the Nyepi period, 440 scheduled regular commercial flights will not operate, comprising 231 domestic flights and 209 international flights.

During the operational suspension period, 19 aircraft are scheduled to remain overnight (RON) at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali.

According to the schedule, the last departure flight before the operational suspension is on Wednesday 18 March 2026 at 23:10 WITA for domestic routes, and Thursday 19 March 2026 at 01:30 WITA for international routes.
