Bali’s I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport will halt all flight operations for 24 hours during the observance of Nyepi (Balinese New Year Day of Silence) in the Caka year 1948, on Thursday, 19 March 2026. A total of 440 flights will be suspended during this period.

General Manager of PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (InJourney Airports) at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Nugroho Jati, explained that all flight activities will be halted from Thursday, 19 March 2026 at 06.00 local time until Friday, 20 March 2026 at 06.00 local time.

“During this period, there will be no regular flights departing or arriving at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport,” he stated on Thursday, 12 March 2026.

Although flight operations will cease, airport personnel will remain on standby to anticipate emergencies such as medical flights or special flights if necessary and with approval from the relevant authorities.

During the closure period, 440 scheduled commercial flights are recorded as non-operational, comprising 231 domestic route flights and 209 international route flights. Nineteen aircraft will remain overnight (RON) at Bali’s I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport.

The final departure flight before the operational halt is scheduled for Wednesday, 18 March at 23.10 local time for domestic routes, and Thursday, 19 March at 01.30 local time for international routes. The final arrival flight is scheduled for Wednesday, 18 March at 23.05 local time for domestic routes, and Thursday, 19 March at 00.30 local time for international routes.

The first departure flight after operational resumption is scheduled for Friday, 20 March at 07.00 local time for domestic routes and 08.15 local time for international routes. Meanwhile, the first arrival flight is scheduled for 08.20 local time for domestic routes and 07.05 local time for international routes.

To ensure smooth operations before and after the Nyepi period, the airport is coordinating with all aviation stakeholders, AirNav Indonesia, the Regional Airport Authority Office (Region IV), and other relevant agencies. Airlines have also informed passengers of the flight schedule adjustments.

“We appeal to prospective passengers planning to travel around that date to coordinate with the relevant airline regarding flight schedules and to arrive at the airport according to the departure time that has been announced,” concluded Nugroho.
