Here are several adjustments that apply during Nyepi 2026 in Bali based on the Joint Call on the Implementation of the Sacred Nyepi Day of the Çaka 1948 Year/2026, which coincides with the Eve of Takbiran for Eid al-Fitr of the 1447 Hijriah/2026 AD. - The Hindu community shall carry out all series of the Sacred Nyepi Day of the Çaka 1948 with solemnity and full devotion, including: Melasti, Pangrupukan, Sipeng (Catur Brata Penyepian), and Ngembak Geni with solemnity and devotion. - All providers of land, sea, and air transportation services are not permitted to operate during the implementation of Catur Brata Penyepian, starting from Thursday, 19 March 2026, at 6:00 AM WITA until Friday, 20 March 2026, at 6:00 AM WITA. - Radio Broadcasting Institutions and Television Broadcasting Institutions are not permitted to broadcast during the implementation of the Sacred Nyepi Day, starting from Thursday, 19 March 2026, at 6:00 AM WITA until Friday, 20 March 2026, at 6:00 AM WITA. - Mobile telecommunications service providers shall deactivate mobile data services, and all television service providers shall not distribute broadcasts during the implementation of Nyepi as per the specified time, while still considering emergency communication services. - All communities and tourists are not permitted to travel/go out of the house or light firecrackers, loudspeakers, noises, excessive lighting, or other activities that may disturb the devotion of the Sacred Nyepi Day and public order. - Business actors in accommodation services, entertainment services, and tourism destination managers in Bali are not permitted to promote business activities using branding or commercial activities in the name of the Sacred Nyepi Day. - Considering that the Sacred Nyepi Day of the Çaka 1948 coincides with the eve of Takbiran for Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah, then: a. The Muslim community is permitted to carry out takbiran at the nearest Mosque or Musalla on foot, without the use of loudspeakers, without lighting firecrackers or other noises, and using lighting as necessary, from 6:00 PM WITA until 9:00 PM WITA. b. Security and order for the implementation of takbiran shall be the responsibility of the respective Mosque or Musalla administrators, while still coordinating with local security apparatus. - Village Customary Leaders, Mosque or Musalla Administrators, Pecalang, Linmas, as well as Village/Kelurahan Apparatus shall be responsible for jointly maintaining security and order for the implementation of Nyepi as well as Takbiran activities in their respective areas, with synergistic coordination with security apparatus. - Religious Councils, religious social institutions, and related agencies shall socialise this Joint Call to all religious communities in Bali in a tiered and continuous manner. - All communities, business actors, and tourists in the Province of Bali are obliged to obey and implement this Joint Call with full awareness and responsibility.
