Bali's Indonesian Language TKA Scores Exceed National Average, NTB and NTT Lag Behind

The Basic and Secondary Education Policy Agency (BKPDM) under the Ministry of Education has released average scores for the Indonesian language academic test (TKA) across provinces for primary and secondary schools. Bali’s scores exceeded the national average, while Nusa Tenggara Barat (NTB) and Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT) remained below average.

According to detikEdu, the national average for primary school TKA scores is 60.14, and 60.83 for secondary school.

Bali recorded primary school scores of 64.15 and secondary school scores of 66.35. NTB achieved 54.76 for primary and 54.03 for secondary, while NTT had the lowest scores at 49.77 for primary and 52.47 for secondary.

Nationwide, Yogyakarta recorded the highest TKA scores with 75.14 for primary and 73.74 for secondary. The lowest scores were in North Maluku for primary (46.41) and Papua Pegunungan for secondary (47.11).

Rahmawati, Head of the Education Assessment Centre (Pusmendik), clarified that the data is not a provincial ranking but is ordered according to province codes in the TKA data system.
