A 25-year-old man identified as NA was arrested after allegedly setting fire to a cow shed and a vehicle belonging to a resident in Julah Village, Tejakula Subdistrict, Buleleng Regency, Bali. The arson is believed to have been motivated by resentment due to the suspect’s relationship with the victim’s daughter being disapproved.

According to detikBali on Thursday, 28 May 2026, Tejakula Police Chief AKP Gede Darma Diatmika stated the incident occurred on Sunday, 24 May at around 23:00 WITA in Banjar Dinas Kawanan, Julah Village.

“The suspect has been detained and is currently undergoing further questioning,” said AKP Gede Darma Diatmika when questioned on Wednesday, 27 May.

The victim in the case is Nengah Sudarta, 57. The fire was first discovered by a witness, WD, who then informed the victim that his cow shed was on fire.

In addition to the cow shed, a black Suzuki Futura car parked in the garage approximately 40 metres away was also engulfed in flames. A seven-month-old calf sustained burns in the incident, with the victim estimated to have suffered around Rp 20 million in damages.

Darma Diatmika explained that the case was uncovered following a crime scene investigation conducted by police and the forensics team. Evidence gathered during the investigation pointed to intentional arson.
