Bali Tourists Receive Instant Travel Insurance Options for Maritime Travel
Denpasar, Bali – State-owned general insurer PT Asuransi Jasa Indonesia (Jasindo) is offering Bali’s tourists instant insurance options for marine travel. ‘This time we present a travel protection solution that is relevant and comprehensive to support travellers’ comfort and sense of security while engaging in maritime tourism activities,’ said Brellian Gema, Corporate Secretary of Jasindo Insurance, in Denpasar on Wednesday. Brellian explained that the insurance currently presented aims to address the high mobility of marine tourists in Bali, particularly at Sanur Port, which in recent years has become a favourite crossing point for visitors to Nusa Penida. The high level of mobility has driven the need for travel protection that is practical, fast and easily accessible. ‘To meet this need, we are presenting Jasindo Travel Insurance at Sanur Port in collaboration with PT Mitra Kasih Perkasa (MKP); through this collaboration, travellers can obtain instant travel protection before departure,’ she said. Under this programme, Jasindo Insurance offers premiums starting from Rp17,500, with such amount giving travellers 24-hour protection up to Rp250 million covering a range of travel risks. These risks include emergency medical coverage, accident benefits, protection for extreme activities, baggage and personal belongings protection, compensation for travel delays, costs of alternative travel arrangements, trip cancellation protection, and benefits for shortened trips or early return. ‘The various benefits are designed to provide travellers with safety and comprehensive coverage from before departure through to the end of their tourism journey,’ Brellian added. The travel insurance itself represents Jasindo’s service transformation to bring protection closer to the public. With increasingly dynamic travel patterns, there is a need for insurance services that are fast, practical and accessible directly at departure points or in the final moments of travel. Sanur Port was chosen as one of Bali’s busiest sea-tourism departure hubs heading to popular destinations like Nusa Penida and Nusa Lembongan, with millions of travellers using the port each year. Brellian said that, because the arrangement is collaborative, the facilities at Sanur Port allow travellers to purchase ferry tickets and obtain insurance more practically through the MKP Lounge. Maritime tourism activities will be faster and more modern thanks to integrated ticketing systems, electronic payments, and travel protection within a single pre-departure service ecosystem. ‘With a simple process and very affordable prices, domestic and international travellers can be protected immediately, even before boarding the ferry,’ she said. MKP CEO & Co-Founder Nicholas Anggada added that the collaboration between an insurance company and digital technology in the transport sector aims not only to strengthen the quality of maritime tourism services but also to meet growing needs related to safety and comfort. He noted that providing travel insurance directly at the departure point not only offers convenience but also is part of an effort to deliver a more modern and trustworthy standard of tourism services focused on consumer protection. ‘Through the MKP Lounge we aim to create a seamless travel experience with a premium, modern and trusted service standard, because passenger comfort and safety must go hand in hand in building a better maritime tourism ecosystem in Indonesia,’ he said.
