Bali Tourism Department Claims Surge in Tourists During 2026 Idul Adha Long Weekend
Bali Tourism Department claims domestic tourist arrivals increased during the 2026 Idul Adha long weekend. Bali Tourism Department Head I Wayan Sumarajaya stated that on-the-ground conditions showed increased tourist activity during the period. ‘Generally, reports from the field have increased, meaning it’s busy,’ said Bali Tourism Department Head I Wayan Sumarajaya, who was interviewed at Lapangan Puputan Margarana Niti Mandala in Renon, Denpasar on 1 June 2026. Sumarajaya explained that the surge in visitors was due to the Idul Adha long weekend coinciding with several international events, including the Bali and Beyond Travel Fair (BBTF). ‘There were many events yesterday, including BBTF and several other activities. There was also eco-tourism activity at The Meru. BBTF is international, with many attendees from Indonesia during the holiday period,’ he added. However, he admitted not having exact figures for the increase in visitors. Bali Tourism Department is still verifying data from various sources. ‘The previous long weekend saw a 10% increase, but this one hasn’t been checked yet,’ he said.
