Bali to host opening round of Red Bull Cliff Diving 2026
Red Bull Cliff Diving has taken us to various exotic locations around the world. Indonesia not only has stunning scenery but also a culture that will enrich our experience.
Jakarta (ANTARA) – Indonesia will host the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series 2026 for the first time, taking place in Bali from 20–23 May.
In an official statement received in Jakarta on Tuesday, the competition will kick off the 2026 season, with athletes competing for the King Kahekili Trophy. Bali was chosen because it has natural landscapes and cultural richness that support the character of this extreme sports event.
Two locations in Bali have been prepared as competition venues: Kroya Waterfall in Buleleng Regency and T-Rex Cliff at Kelingking Beach, Nusa Penida, Klungkung Regency.
Seven-time consecutive world champion, Rhiannan Iffland, said that Indonesia offers a different experience compared to previous locations.
“Red Bull Cliff Diving has taken us to various exotic locations around the world. Indonesia not only has stunning scenery but also a culture that will enrich our experience,” Iffland said in her official statement.
A total of 24 male and female athletes from several countries, including Australia, the United States, Canada, France, Romania, and Mexico, are scheduled to compete in the Bali series.
In addition to Iffland, the event will also feature cliff diving legend Gary Hunt and Constantin Popovici, who holds the record for the highest score in the history of the competition.
The Vice Regent of Klungkung, Tjokorda Gde Surya Putra, stated that the organisation of this event is a momentum for the development of nature sports tourism in Bali.
He added that the local government is ready to support the implementation of the competition to provide the best experience for athletes and crews coming from various countries.
The organisation of the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series 2026 in Bali also involves the Indonesian Navy as a strategic partner in the technical, operational, and security aspects during the preparation and implementation of the event.
