Bali to host Global Healing Conference

Bali is to host a major international conference on global healing at ARMA Museum in the famous art village of Ubud from Dec. 4 through Dec. 9.

The conference will be organized by Jaffe Enterprises and Cross Cultural Journey. The five-day gathering will present noted speakers and participants, including Nobel laureate Desmond Tutu, who played a critical role in the transition of South Africa.

Former Freedom Fighter and President of South Africa Nelson Mandela appointed him chairman of South Africa's Truth and Reconciliation Commission.

He is the author of No Future without Forgiveness and God Has a Dream: A Vision of Hope for Our Time.

Other speakers also include Institute of Noetic Sciences (IONS) president, Amnesty International Washington office former director and former director of the Seva Foundation James O'Dea.

Professor Abdul Aziz Said, another speaker, is founder of the International Peace and Conflict Resolution Program at American University, and director of The Center for Global Peace.

He holds the Mohammed Said Farsi Islamic Peace Chair. He has served on a White House Commission on the Islamic world and is a consultant to both the UN and the U.S. Department of State.

A number of prominent figures will also attend, such as U.S. Astronaut Edgar Mitchell and Gary Malkin, an Emmy Award-winning composer/producer and performer dedicated to making a difference in the world by participating in projects that inspire the heart and catalyze social change.

As Artistic Director of the conference, he is working closely with internationally renowned Balinese musicians and dancers who will provide cultural performances. -- JP
