Bali Targets 6.6 Million Foreign Tourist Visits Throughout 2026

Badung (ANTARA) - Bali’s Tourism Office (Dispar Bali) is targeting 6.625 million foreign tourist (wisman) visits throughout 2026. “For this year’s wisman target, we are aiming for 6.625 million, which is already included in the strategic plan (renstra) up to 2030,” said the Head of Tourism Marketing at Dispar Bali, Ida Ayu Indah Yustikarini, during a press conference ahead of BBTF 2026. Dayu Indah, in Badung Regency on Monday, stated that the 6.625 million target represents an increase from the 2025 wisman visit target of 6.5 million. However, in 2025, Bali exceeded the target with a final total of 6.9 million visits. Nevertheless, achieving these figures still requires strategies, one of which is shifting focus from European and American wisman to those from Asia. This is due to the Middle East conflict situation as a European hub to Bali, which is certain to reduce their visit numbers. “We are seeking a lot of advice from the Ministry of Tourism (Kemenpar) and tourism stakeholders, namely trying to reduce dependence on vulnerable transit routes, and then encouraging tourists from neighbouring countries that are closer, for example, the Asia Pacific region, namely Australia, Southeast Asia, East Asia, and South Asia including India,” said Dayu Indah. With the Middle East conflict, several countries threatened by security issues include the UK, the US, France, and Germany. “So we can focus on what I mentioned earlier, namely Australia, India, China, South Korea, then Malaysia, Singapore,” said Dayu Indah. In addition to wisman, Dispar Bali also places great hope on domestic tourists, where during the COVID-19 pandemic, domestic tourists contributed significantly to Bali’s economy. Therefore, alongside efforts to pursue new markets, Bali also relies on domestic tourists. Dispar Bali has proposed that the central government, through the Ministry of Tourism or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, assist in exploring potential countries that are less targeted. One of them is Canada, where during an audience with the Consul General of Indonesia in Canada, Dispar found information that Canadian wisman like Bali for its tranquility, even staying up to two weeks.
