Bali Ready to Become a Centre for Dharma-Based Economic Collaboration

Bali is ready to become a centre for economic collaboration grounded in the values of dharma. Bali Governor Wayan Koster stated that the plan to host the Global Hindu Business Conference (GHBC) 2026 in Bali is a strategic momentum to strengthen the global economic network of Hindus, while introducing Bali as a centre of development based on dharma values. “Therefore, I welcome with great joy the delegates attending the Global Hindu Business Conference and express my gratitude that Bali has once again been trusted to be the host,” Koster said in an official statement received by detikBali, Sunday (12/7/2026). The GHBC was held at the Hindu University of Indonesia (Unhi) Denpasar and was attended by approximately 300 delegates from eight countries, including India, Malaysia, Singapore, Nepal, Mauritius, Australia, the United Arab Emirates, and Indonesia. Koster conveyed that Bali possesses various potentials, ranging from demographic conditions, culture, and economy, to its long-term development direction. He continued that Bali’s main strength lies in its culture. Therefore, traditional villages serve as the foundation for maintaining community life through the economy and environmental preservation. “Tourism, culture, and the economy must run in balance so that Bali remains competitive on the world stage,” he explained. This commitment is reinforced through the Bali 100-Year Development Plan, which emphasises sustainable development through cultural preservation, environmental quality improvement, clean energy development, infrastructure, education, and the strengthening of human resource quality. “Bali must exist throughout the ages, not just exist but possess an identity, quality, and the ability to compete at the global level,” Koster asserted.
