Bali Provincial Police Focus Security on Five Points for Takbiran Night in Denpasar
Denpasar (ANTARA) - The Bali Provincial Police are focusing security for the Takbiran night of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah at five mosques in Denpasar City on Friday evening. A total of 495 personnel have been deployed as part of Operation Ketupat Agung 2026 to ensure that all worship activities proceed safely and conducive. The five mosques prioritised for security are Masjid Baiturahman on Jalan Ahmad Yani, Masjid Ukhuwah on Jalan Kalimantan, Masjid Baitul Makmur on Jalan Gunung Merbuk Tegal, Masjid At-Taqwa Polda Bali on Jalan WR Supratman, and Masjid An-Nur on Jalan Diponegoro. Head of Public Relations of Bali Provincial Police, Kombes Pol Ariasandy, stated that this security measure represents the Indonesian National Police’s commitment to maintaining harmony amid Bali’s diverse society. “This moment showcases Bali as an island of tolerance. Two major celebrations occurring almost simultaneously can proceed side by side with mutual respect. We are present to ensure that all communities can worship safely and comfortably,” he said. He explained that security is not only through guarding the locations but also by coordinating with mosque committees. This is done to adapt the security pattern to the characteristics of the Takbiran implementation at each site. In addition, Bali Provincial Police urge the public not to conduct roaming Takbiran using vehicles. This appeal aims to preserve the solemnity of worship while avoiding potential security and public order disturbances. Officers are also managing traffic and delivering community policing messages to the public to ensure the situation remains conducive during the event. In Bali, this year’s Takbiran night is taking place alongside the series of Nyepi Day in the Saka 1948 year, particularly the Ngembak Geni moment for the Hindu community. This situation further affirms the tolerant values that live in the daily lives of Balinese society. “We invite all elements of society to jointly maintain the situation remains safe, orderly, and mutually respectful, so that these celebrations bring peace to all,” Ariasandy concluded.
