Bali provincial government prepares land to support immigration services
The Provincial Government of Bali is preparing land to support immigration services, given the high level of foreign tourist visits to the Island of the Gods.
“Whatever is needed, we will support. Previously, land was also proposed in Klungkung and Tabanan for immigration offices, and we have already supported that,” said Bali Governor Wayan Koster during the inauguration of the Immigration Lounge at Discovery Mall Kuta, Badung Regency, Bali, on Thursday.
The Klungkung and Tabanan Immigration Offices are two new office units opened in April 2026.
The immigration office building in Tabanan Regency is located behind the Tabanan Regent’s Office, precisely on Jalan Arjuna 2 Delod Peken, Tabanan District, while the Klungkung Regency Immigration Office is located on Jalan Semarapura, Klungkung District.
The two immigration offices hold Class III non-immigration checkpoints (TPI) status, adding to the previously established offices, namely the Denpasar, Ngurah Rai, and Singaraja Immigration Offices.
In addition to Tabanan and Klungkung, Koster is also preparing land to support the operations of the Class I TPI Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, which requires expansion.
The Bali Governor offered a land option in the Ngurah Rai Mangrove area, where a building already exists and is ready for occupancy.
He also urged immigration officials to make use of the Bali Provincial Government’s existing assets to serve as immigration service offices.
“We have land in the Mangrove forest area. It is a very suitable office, not far from Ngurah Rai Airport. If it is to be used, there is no need to build a new office; it can be used directly,” he said.
Koster hopes the office will enhance services for foreign tourists, whose numbers increase every year in Bali.
In 2025, he continued, Bali was visited by 7,050,000 foreign tourists arriving by air, not including those arriving by cruise ship.
Furthermore, the high demand for services from Indonesian citizens wishing to travel abroad requires the optimisation of service buildings.
On the other hand, he also appreciated the immigration service innovation opened in a shopping centre in the heart of the Kuta tourist area, Badung Regency.
“Many foreigners gather in Badung Regency, because more than 70 percent of foreign tourists are in Badung. Hotel and restaurant tax revenue is 74 percent in Badung, so Badung indeed receives priority for immigration services,” he said.
