Bali Provincial Government Prepares Guidelines for Civil Servants' Work-from-Home on Fridays

The Bali Provincial Government is still preparing a Circular Letter (SE) regarding the mechanism and implementation of the work-from-home (WFH) policy for Civil Servants (ASN) every Friday.

Head of the Bureau of Organization at the Bali Regional Secretariat, Tjok Istri Srimas Pemayun, said that local governments are required to adapt the policy to the conditions of their respective regions, as stipulated in the SE from the Ministry of Home Affairs, which must also be followed up with an SE at the local level.

“So we are preparing the SE first. Not yet (available), we are preparing the SE now,” said Srimas on Wednesday (1/4/2026).

Srimas assured that the work-from-home mechanism every Friday for Bali Provincial Government ASN will be completed soon this week.

“That’s the direction for Fridays, coincidentally this Friday is a holiday, so we’re preparing it now, if not tomorrow perhaps the SE will already be there, it’s quick,” explained Srimas.

Nevertheless, she emphasised that public services will continue to operate normally and must not be disrupted by the policy.

“Even so, there will definitely be (staff coming in). Public services must not stop,” she stressed.

Previously, as reported by detikNews, the government has set a policy of working from home or WFH for one day per week, namely every Friday.

“The implementation of work from home for ASN in central and regional agencies, carried out for one working day per week, namely every Friday,” said Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto in a virtual press conference on Tuesday (31/3/2026).

Airlangga explained that this policy only applies to ASN and aims to encourage digital-based governance services.
