Bali Provincial Government Offers Vehicle Tax Discounts; Requirements Outlined
The Bali Provincial Government is providing tax relief incentives for motor vehicle taxpayers in Bali throughout 2026. These incentives are available to taxpayers who do not have any outstanding arrears from previous years.
The Head of the Bali Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda), I Dewa Tagel Wirasa, stated that the tax relief applies to all types of vehicles. However, the amount of the incentive differs depending on the vehicle type.
“Yes, all vehicles; however, the incentives vary as we are also considering the lower-middle-income community. For the majority of two-wheeled vehicle owners, we are providing an additional 10 per cent discount, including the principal tax,” said Tagel on Tuesday (3/6/2026).
“This is on the condition that there are no arrears from previous years,” he added.
Tagel explained that the policy refers to the Bali Governor Regulation Number 53 of 2025. Under this regulation, compliant taxpayers will receive a 10 per cent discount on the principal tax for vehicles with a maximum capacity of 200 cc, and a 5 per cent discount for vehicles exceeding 200 cc.
“The pattern of relief we are providing now differs from previous years. In addition to the reduction in rates, we are also providing incentives for taxpayers who are compliant in paying their vehicle taxes,” said the former Head of BPKAD Bali.
According to Tagel, this policy also serves as a momentum to educate the public to be more diligent in paying vehicle taxes.
“Because tax revenue is used for development and to fund the Regional Budget (APBD),” Tagel continued.
He added that the tax incentives are valid from the beginning to the end of 2026. Consequently, the public is encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to settle their vehicle tax obligations.
