Bali Provincial Government and Korem 163/Wira Satya Dispatch 9 Trucks of Aid for Earthquake Victims
The Province of Bali, Korem 163/Wira Satya, the Denpasar City Government, and other relevant parties dispatched nine trucks of aid for the natural disaster in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) on Monday (31/08/2026).
The departure was led directly by the Governor of Bali, Wayan Koster, accompanied by the Commander of Korem (Danrem) Brigadier General TNI Ida I Dewa Agung Hadisaputra, the Mayor of Denpasar I Gusti Ngurah Jaya Negara, and other regional agencies.
“There are food supplies, clothing, medicines, and various types of daily necessities required by the victims,” said Wayan Koster following the event at the Korem Wira Satya field in Denpasar.
Koster added that daily necessities are the most pressing need for those affected by the earthquake in NTT. This second wave of aid is provided as an expression of care from the Bali Provincial Government, following Koster’s recent meeting with the Governor of NTT.
When asked whether further aid would be provided, Koster stated that they would monitor the developing situation on the ground.
Furthermore, the Commander of Korem 163/Wira Satya, Brigadier General TNI Ida I Dewa Agung Hadisaputra, noted that the delivery of aid would take approximately three days and two nights.
“We have coordinated everything. The journey takes about three days and two nights. A trauma healing team is also assisting there, as this is highly needed,” he explained, adding that psychological recovery is vital for those affected.
Meanwhile, the Mayor of Denpasar, I Gusti Ngurah Jaya Negara, stated that the assistance includes not only the supplies in the trucks but also cash amounting to Rp 700 million for the earthquake victims in NTT.
“When we faced disasters in Denpasar, many others provided aid. Now, seeing the victims of this disaster, our regional agency leaders stepped up with a spirit of mutual cooperation to contribute,” he said when met by detikBali.
Notably, within just five days, the Denpasar City administration managed to collect Rp 700 million in donations. From these funds, Rp 150 million has been used to purchase basic food supplies.
The remaining Rp 550 million is currently being coordinated to determine whether it will be distributed as cash or used to purchase school uniforms, stationery, or other necessary items.
“This is still being coordinated with the relevant government. This is the sense of togetherness we build in this city, our ‘Menyama Braya’ vision. I was surprised by how enthusiastic everyone was,” he concluded.
