Bali Provincial Government Addresses Three Main MSME Challenges Through Green Incubation
Denpasar, Bali (ANTARA) - The Bali Provincial Government is addressing three main problems faced by MSME actors through the Sustainable Business Networking Innovation Green Hilirisation Incubation programme (Green Incubation).
“There are many problems faced by MSMEs, broadly speaking there are three: first is capital, second is human resources, and third is the product or market access; these three things we are trying to minimise in the Green Incubation programme,” said the Head of the Cooperative and MSME Office (Diskop UKM) of Bali, Tri Arya Dhyana Kubontubuh, in Denpasar, Bali, on Thursday.
He noted that there are currently 448,734 MSMEs in Bali, with almost identical issues, so through incubation programmes, they can be mentored and connected with strategic partners.
According to him, the Bali Diskop UKM is implementing the Green Incubation programme by selecting MSMEs that conduct economic activities while paying attention to environmental conservation for inclusion in mentoring aligned with the current focus of the regional government.
After classification according to this incubation theme, 60 MSMEs were obtained, which were then selected, resulting in 15 of the best business actors.
At this stage, 15 MSMEs have been selected that passed curation because they are assessed to have implemented a green economy from the production process, use of materials, and results with minimal environmental risk.
Tri Arya stated that these 15 pilot business actors will later be supported in matters of capital and access to markets during the business matching stage or meetings with strategic partners.
“In addition to buyers, there may also be from financial institutions or we can facilitate credit businesses that MSMEs can obtain,” he said.
In the incubation process, the Bali Diskop UKM through the UPTD PLUT KUMKM will also provide training and mentoring through bootcamps, so that human resource issues can be resolved.
“So, the three main MSME problems can be minimised in this Green Incubation programme, but with the theme of environmental sustainability. We feel that green MSMEs must indeed be carried out or become a trend for MSME actors in the Province of Bali,” he said.
Tri Arya assessed that today’s MSMEs must not only care about environmental preservation but also be adaptive, where waste issues are the most viral in Bali at present and become an opportunity for micro business actors.
“That waste might be disgusting or unusable for those without innovation and business spirit, but if we have innovation and high entrepreneurial spirit, that waste has economic value, can be managed, can be processed,” he said.
By classifying MSMEs with the incubation programme created, the regional government targets to reduce the three main problems in micro enterprises and give birth to new sustainable innovations.
