Bali’s Tourism Office (Dispar) predicts that domestic tourist arrivals to Bali during the extended Eid al-Fitr holiday period will increase by up to 40 per cent.

I Wayan Sumarajaya, Head of Bali’s Tourism Office, stated that the increase in tourist arrivals during the Eid season has become an annual pattern.

“Based on experience from previous years, the Eid holiday period consistently sees increased tourist arrivals, particularly from domestic visitors at various tourist attractions with increases reaching 30-40 per cent,” said Sumarajaya on Wednesday (11 March 2026).

According to him, the surge in arrivals typically occurs after Eid al-Fitr, as the extended holiday period allows tourists to take advantage of the time to visit various destinations across Bali.

“Because this is an extended holiday, the increase in tourist arrivals usually occurs one day after Eid al-Fitr,” explained Sumarajaya.

Several tourist destinations that are favourites amongst domestic travellers include Tanah Lot, Ulun Danu Beratan, Uluwatu, Penglipuran Village, and Garuda Wisnu Kencana.

Regarding international tourists, the increase in arrivals is expected to be less significant compared to domestic visitors. Nevertheless, the movement of foreign tourists continues to show an upward trend.

Sumarajaya added that the government has undertaken various preparations ahead of the extended Eid holiday, including a circular letter from the Ministry of Tourism to the Governor, Regents and Mayors, as well as tourism stakeholders in Bali.

“There is also coordination from several vertical agencies in Bali Province and district/city administrations,” he added.
