Bali Police Uncover 2.3 kg of Crystal Meth Distribution in Denpasar; 1 Person Named as a Suspect

According to Bali Police public information head AKBP Rina Isriana Dewi, the case was uncovered following public information about suspected narcotics distribution in the Cokroaminoto area, Denpasar Utara. The Operations Team immediately carried out an investigation.

‘The Operations Team of Unit 3, Sub-directorate 3 of the Bali Police’s Directorate of Narcotics then conducted the investigation and secured the suspect at a rented room in Gang Jatayu, Jalan Cokroaminoto, Denpasar Utara,’ Rina said, as reported by Antara, Saturday 23 May 2026.

From the search at the first location, police found six clear crystal packets believed to be meth with a total gross weight of 2,375.96 grams or 2,250.44 grams net. The evidence was kept in a black shopping bag. In addition to the meth, police also seized one mobile phone believed to have been used by the suspect to communicate about the narcotics distribution.

Officers then carried out further development and searches at the suspect’s residence in Benoa, Kuta Selatan, Badung. At the second location, police found equipment supporting the narcotics operation including clear plastic clips, a digital scale, a spoon, and a black cloth bag.

Based on initial examinations, the suspect admitted to obtaining the meth from someone whose identity is still being investigated by the police.

‘The perpetrator kept the narcotics for redistribution,’ Rina said.

Currently the suspect and the evidence have been secured at the Bali Police’s Directorate of Narcotics for further investigation. For the offence, the suspect faces charges under Article 114(2) of the Narcotics Law with a potential penalty of life imprisonment or up to 20 years in prison.
