Polda Bali held a simultaneous corn-planting activity to support the national food self-sufficiency program for the first quarter of 2026. The event took place at the Abian Timbul Police Dormitory, Jalan Imam Bonjol, Denpasar, on Saturday, 7 March 2026 at 15:30 WITA (Central Indonesia Time). The corn planting was conducted simultaneously across Indonesia and connected virtually to the National Police Headquarters (Mabes Polri). The national implementation was coordinated via a Zoom meeting from South Sumatra.

In Bali, the symbolic planting of corn seedlings was carried out by Bali Police Chief Inspector General Daniel Adityajaya along with IX/Udayana Military Region Commander Major General Piek Budyakto, a representative of the Bali Provincial Government, and several related agencies.

Public Relations Head of Bali Police, Commissioner Ariasandy, said the activity is part of the police’s efforts to support the national food security program through the use of available land.

‘For the initial stage of planting in Q1 this is conducted on land spanning 3.47 hectares,’ Ariasandy said during the event on Saturday, 7 March 2026.

He explained that as of 6 March 2026, Bali Police together with its ranks had planted corn on land totaling 105.46 hectares. Of this area, some land has entered the harvest phase with total production reaching 53.63 tonnes of corn.

The programme also involves as many as 1,236 farmers as a form of collaboration between the police and communities in supporting food resilience.

Ariasandy added that Mabes Polri has set targets for the area of corn land for the Bali Police through the Food Security Management Task Group (MKP) application. The minimum target to be achieved is 435.19 hectares and the maximum 738.56 hectares.

‘So far, Bali Police have declared the potential corn land area reaching 288.94 hectares or about 66.39 percent of the minimum target set,’ he said.

Through this simultaneous corn planting program, it is hoped that the efforts to support food self-sufficiency can continue to develop by involving various parties, while also providing benefits to the community.
