Bali Police have named two foreign nationals (WNA) as suspects in the case of assault leading to death of a Dutch national with initials RP (50) in the North Kuta area, Badung. Both perpetrators have now fled outside Bali and will soon be added to the wanted persons list (DPO).

Director of General Criminal Investigation at Bali Police, Commissioner I Gede Adhi Mulyawarman, stated that the suspect designation was made after investigators obtained strong evidence from CCTV recordings, witness statements, and technological analysis.

“Based on CCTV recordings at the location, investigators divided it into pre-incident, during the incident, and post-incident phases. From there, matching was done with witness statements and technological analysis, leading to two foreigners,” said Adhi at Bali Police Headquarters on Saturday (28/3).

He added that they would immediately issue a DPO and coordinate with Interpol to hunt down both perpetrators. “We will announce their inclusion in the DPO because both have left Bali. We are also working with Interpol,” he said.

Although not announced orally to the media, the identities of both suspects are listed in official police documents, namely Darlano Bruno Lima San Ana (35) and Kalu Hyorran (28), both Brazilian citizens. While in Bali, both were known to reside in the Kerobokan area, North Kuta.

Police suspect that both suspects had planned the action since arriving in Bali on 18 February 2026. This suspicion is strengthened by the discovery of evidence items, including a motorcycle still bearing bloodstains and CCTV recordings showing blood splatter on the victim’s body during the incident.

However, the motive for the murder is still being investigated. “The motive cannot yet be confirmed because both suspects have fled,” said Adhi.

MURDER INCIDENT

The murder incident occurred on Tuesday (24/3) in the early hours, in front of a villa on Jalan Raya Semer, Kerobokan. At that time, the victim was walking with his partner. Two perpetrators wearing online motorcycle taxi attributes arrived on a motorcycle and attacked the victim with a sharp weapon.

As a result of the attack, the victim suffered serious wounds to the neck, face, hands, and back. The victim was rushed to BIMC Hospital Kuta but was declared dead and then referred to Prof. Dr. I.G.N.G. Ngoerah General Hospital.

Police have secured several pieces of evidence, including a 30 cm knife, two motorcycles, clothing, and blood samples from the scene. To date, nine witnesses have been examined, including the villa owner and the vehicle provider used by the perpetrators.

For their actions, both suspects are charged under Article 459 of the Criminal Code regarding planned murder with a threat of death penalty or life imprisonment, as well as layered articles related to assault causing death.
