Bali Police Food Task Force Shuts Down Room for Rogue Elements to Maintain Food Price Stability
The Bali Provincial Police’s Clean Sweep Food Task Force continues efforts to maintain food price stability and protect the public from rogue practices. The team, along with the Bali Provincial Department, has gone directly to the field to conduct monitoring, inspections, and education for traders throughout Bali.
The Head of Public Relations of the Bali Provincial Police, Senior Commissioner Ariasandy, explained that these steps are taken to anticipate cheating practices or price manipulations that could harm the public, particularly for staple needs such as rice, cooking oil, meat, and chillies.
“Today, the Bali Provincial Police Food Task Force team carried out inspections at several markets in the Denpasar area. From the field investigation results, food prices are still monitored as stable and in accordance with the government-set price regulations,” Ariasandy stated in his remarks on Wednesday (6/5/2026).
In addition to price monitoring, Ariasandy said the team also checked the availability of supplies and the quality of food items sold to the public. The team also provided education to traders to maintain price stability and avoid practices that could harm consumers.
“This monitoring activity is a form of the Bali Provincial Police’s quick response in safeguarding public welfare. Thus, the public can feel safe and comfortable when shopping for staple needs at reasonable prices in line with government regulations,” Ariasandy added.
The Bali Provincial Police emphasised that supervision will continue to be carried out routinely to narrow and close the space for rogue elements attempting to manipulate food prices. According to Ariasandy, the efforts of the Bali Provincial Police Food Task Force have received appreciation from the public.
“Residents say they feel more at ease with the direct supervision from authorities along with related agencies, as staple needs prices can remain controlled and not burdensome to the public,” he concluded.
