Bali Police Encourage Students to Use AI Wisely
Police in Bali are equipping the younger generation with the tools to utilise artificial intelligence (AI) wisely, safely, and responsibly amidst rapid technological advancements.
This guidance is being delivered through the ‘Paham AI’ Programme. A total of 3,683 high school and vocational school (SMA/SMK) students in Bali have participated in the programme, which was organised by the Bali Regional Police in collaboration with all subordinate district police units.
The Head of Public Relations for the Bali Regional Police, Kombes Ariasandy, stated that the ‘Paham AI’ Programme is a form of the National Police’s commitment to supporting the younger generation in facing digital technological developments.
“We want the younger generation to not only be capable of using AI but also to understand the benefits, risks, and ethics involved in its use. The Police are here to accompany and equip them so that technology can be used for learning, creativity, and producing positive outcomes,” said Ariasandy.
Through this programme, students are also being taught to be more critical when receiving digital information, including being vigilant against hoaxes, content manipulation, and various forms of AI technology misuse.
The ‘Paham AI’ programme is part of the Bali Regional Police’s humanist efforts to assist the younger generation in becoming more intelligent, creative, critical, and responsible in their use of technology.
