Bali Police Deploy Brimob SAR Personnel and Field Kitchen Vehicles to Flores
Bali Regional Police (Polda Bali) have responded swiftly to the earthquake disaster in Flores, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). Having previously distributed logistical aid in the form of food and clothing, Polda Bali has now deployed experienced Brimob personnel and special vehicles to support humanitarian operations in the affected areas.
Head of Public Relations of Polda Bali, Police Commissioner Ariasandy, stated that ten SAR personnel from the Brimob Unit of Polda Bali were dispatched to carry out Operational Control Assistance (BKO) duties for the NTT Regional Police. The departure took place on Wednesday (19/8/2026) as a tangible expression of the National Police’s concern for fellow citizens.
The send-off ceremony was led directly by Brimob Unit Commander Police Commissioner Febryanto Siagian, accompanied by senior officers of the Brimob Unit at the Tohpati Brimob Headquarters on Tuesday (18/8/2026) afternoon. The SAR team, led by First Police Inspector Nyoman Suastika, consists of selected personnel with specialist expertise in disaster zones.
“This is a mandate and a tangible form of Brimob’s devotion to the nation. We urge the personnel to carry out their BKO duties as well as possible, to serve the community with humanity, sincerity and professionalism, and to uphold the good name of Polda Bali,” said Police Commissioner Febryanto Siagian.
To support the effectiveness of operations in the field, Polda Bali has included four special vehicles (Ransus) that serve vital functions for the displaced residents, including field kitchen vehicles and water purification units.
Police Commissioner Ariasandy added that the presence of these special vehicles is expected to meet the basic needs of the affected communities, particularly the availability of clean water and adequate food at the disaster site.
The Brimob SAR team from Polda Bali is travelling by land and sea to reach the location in Flores. The route includes Padang Bai Port (Bali) to Lembar (Lombok), continuing from Gilimas (West Nusa Tenggara) to Kupang (NTT), and ending in Ende, Flores.
The team’s departure underscores Polda Bali’s commitment to always be present to assist communities across Indonesia in need of emergency aid. “Good luck on your duties, maintain your health and cohesion. Be servants and protectors of the community who bring a sense of safety and hope to disaster victims,” concluded Ariasandy.
