Bali Police Chief's Strategy to Mitigate Social Conflict Ahead of Nyepi and Idul Fitri
Bali’s Police Chief, Irjen Daniel Adityajaya, outlined a strategy to anticipate social conflict ahead of the Nyepi and Idul Fitri holidays, which fall close together this year. He emphasised the importance of collaboration among all stakeholders.
The Bali Police Chief presented this strategy during a coordination meeting themed “Mitigation of Potential Social Conflict Ahead of Nyepi Day Caka 1948 and Idul Fitri 1447 H in Support of Social Harmony” held at the Wiswa Sabha Utama building at the Bali Governor’s Office on Monday, 16 March 2026.
The coordination meeting was convened to strengthen inter-agency synergy in maintaining security stability and community harmony on the Island of the Gods ahead of these two major religious celebrations.
Irjen Daniel stressed that Bali, as a region that upholds values of tolerance and diversity, must continue strengthening preventive measures against potential social conflict.
“The importance of collaboration between the Regional Government, TNI-Polri, Religious Leaders, Traditional Leaders, and all elements of society in anticipating potential public order disturbances cannot be overstated. Through good communication and intensive coordination, any potential problems within the community can be detected early,” Daniel said.
“Bali possesses very strong local wisdom in maintaining harmony. Values of tolerance and mutual cooperation must be continuously preserved, especially ahead of Nyepi and Idul Fitri celebrations, to create a safe, peaceful, and conducive environment,” he added.
Furthermore, Daniel announced that Operation Ketupat Agung-2026 is a strategic initiative to ensure security and public order remain conducive during celebrations of Nyepi and Idul Fitri 1447 H.
“In its implementation, the Bali Police Department prioritises various preventive efforts through enhanced patrols, security at crowded locations, and early detection of potential public order disturbances,” said the Bali Police Chief.
“Additionally, strengthened coordination and synergy with relevant agencies, regional government, and all elements of society continues to be carried out to ensure every potential problem can be anticipated quickly and appropriately, maintaining security stability across Bali,” concluded the Bali Police Chief.
