Bali Police Arrest 97 Street Crime Suspects in June 2026

Bali Regional Police have arrested 97 suspects during June 2026 through the newly formed Unit Reaksi Cepat (URC), or Rapid Response Unit. The announcement was made by Bali Police Chief Inspector General Daniel Adityajaya during a press conference at the Bali Police Headquarters on Monday (29/6/2026). He was accompanied by Director of General Criminal Investigation Commissioner Lintar Mahardhono, Director of Special Criminal Investigation Commissioner Wisnu Prabowo, Head of Public Relations Commissioner Ariasandy, and Head of Internal Affairs Commissioner Ketut Agus Kusmayadi. “This is our commitment to maintaining public security and order through the establishment of the URC. The formation of this team follows directives from National Police Headquarters to enhance rapid response to various street crimes, particularly aggravated theft, violent theft, motor vehicle theft, and ordinary theft within the jurisdiction of the Bali Police,” he stated. The URC is reinforced by 327 personnel tasked with taking swift action on every criminal report and incident. During June 2026, the URC team from the General Criminal Investigation Directorate, together with the Criminal Investigation Units of the resort police, successfully uncovered 80 cases of aggravated theft, violent theft, motor vehicle theft, and ordinary theft across the Bali Police jurisdiction. The URC also secured 97 suspects, comprising 32 cases of aggravated theft with 40 suspects, 5 cases of violent theft with 6 suspects, 30 cases of motor vehicle theft with 39 suspects, and 13 cases of ordinary theft with 12 suspects. “Of all the suspects arrested, 93 are male and 4 are female. A total of 96 suspects have been detained, while one minor suspect was not detained in accordance with applicable regulations,” he detailed. In addition to apprehending the perpetrators, the police seized various stolen items as evidence, including 47 motorcycles, 3 cars, 20 mobile phones of various brands, 4 laptops of various brands, tens of millions of rupiah in cash, two gold bars, gold jewellery, livestock, LPG gas cylinders, ATM cards, and other items related to the crimes uncovered. This success demonstrates the Bali Police’s commitment to providing a sense of security to the public while suppressing the crime rate in the Bali region. “The Bali Police also invite the entire community to continue playing an active role by immediately reporting any criminal acts or suspicious activities to the nearest police station or the 110 hotline. Synergy between the police and the community is key to creating a safe, comfortable, and conducive public security and order situation within the Bali Police jurisdiction. I emphasise that there is no safe place for any criminal in Bali,” stated the Police Chief.
