The Narcotics Investigation Directorate of the Bali Regional Police uncovered 111 drug trafficking cases during Operation Antik Agung 2026, a 16-day initiative conducted from 13 to 28 May 2026. A total of 138 suspects were named, with the value of evidence amounting to over Rp13 billion (approx. £650,000).

“This comprises 74 cases that were operational targets and 37 non-target cases,” stated Bali Police Chief Inspector General Daniel Adityajaya during a press conference at the Bali Regional Police headquarters on Wednesday (10/6/2026).

Police also seized a substantial quantity of narcotics. These included 6.2 kilogrammes of crystal methamphetamine, 584 ecstasy pills, and 2.1 kg of cannabis. Officers also confiscated 53.46 grammes of synthetic tobacco, 1,282 “koplo” pills, and 23.5 grammes of cocaine. The total street value of these items exceeded Rp13.15 billion.

“The total number of suspects is 138 people, consisting of 77 operational targets and 61 non-target individuals. We estimate the monetary value of the evidence at Rp13,155,843,400 and we have successfully saved 40,846 lives,” Daniel detailed.

Meanwhile, the total value of evidence destroyed amounted to nearly Rp19.9 billion, as additional evidence from other cases was included, such as 2.3 kg of crystal methamphetamine, 500 ecstasy pills, 925 mephedrone pills, 2 kg of cocaine, 24.37 grammes of cannabis, and various other items.

Daniel noted that his unit successfully uncovered all operational targets, achieving a 100 per cent success rate. The suspects had various roles, including sellers, buyers, and intermediaries in the illicit transactions.

Among the suspects was a foreign national who acted as a courier in a cross-border trafficking network using air transport.

“The suspect brought mephedrone-type narcotics from abroad via air routes to be distributed in the Bali region,” he revealed.

“We cooperate quite intensively with domestic stakeholders as well as the police forces of other countries through Interpol and foreign consulates for prevention efforts,” he added.

The suspects are charged under various articles, facing penalties ranging from 20 years’ imprisonment to life sentences. According to Daniel, his team is still conducting further investigations to develop the drug cases in Bali, targeting both local and international networks. He also issued a warning to drug offenders targeting the island.

“Bali is not a safe place for drug abusers or dealers. Let us keep Bali clean from the illicit trafficking of narcotics,” Daniel concluded.
