Bali-NTT Flights Unaffected by M 7.7 Nagekeo Earthquake
A magnitude 7.7 earthquake that struck Nagekeo Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), has not affected flight operations in Bali. All flight schedules at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali are running normally.
“We can confirm that flight operations and airport services at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport Bali are running normally and optimally,” said Gede Eka Sandi Asmadi, Communication & Legal Division Head of I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport Bali, on Saturday (15/8/2026).
Sandi stressed that to date there have been no flight cancellations from or to airports in the NTT region. He noted that flights from Ngurah Rai Airport today totalled 9 departures and 8 arrivals to and from Komodo Airport, Labuan Bajo, NTT.
Meanwhile, flights to and from Tambolaka Airport, now named Lede Kalumbang Airport in Southwest Sumba, NTT, totalled 3 departures and 2 arrivals. Sandi said all these flights are still operating normally.
The magnitude 7.7 earthquake struck Nagekeo Regency, NTT, this morning. As of 08.45 Wita, BMKG had recorded 44 aftershocks in the NTT region.
The epicentre was located at sea at a depth of 15 kilometres, approximately 38 kilometres northeast of Mbay, Nagekeo, NTT. Tremors were felt strongly in several areas of NTT, NTB, and as far as South Sulawesi.
