Visitors who plan to spend Christmas or New Year in Bali will not
be disappointed, as local and international hotels have lit up
their facilities with holiday fare.
Bali Intercontinental Resort in Jimbaran, for instance, has in
store a number of Christmas activities and celebrations.
Intercontinental public relations director Keke Hidayat said
the hotel had planned a special Christmas Eve celebration for
dozens of orphans from Klungkung.
"We have planned plenty of activities for these
underprivileged children and have invited donors to take part in
this charity event," Keke said.
The resort hotel has also planned a lavish dinner and
Christmas caroling for Dec. 24.
"The hotel interior is glittering with Christmas decorations.
Our guests will be kept entertained with a variety of festive
activities," she added.
The Conrad Bali in Tanjung Benoa has also arranged to
celebrate Christmas in style.
"We shall give a special Christmas gift -- a Santa Claus doll
-- to our esteemed guests," said the Tanjung Benoa's Conrad Bali
public relations director Anastasya Lijadi.
A sumptuous Christmas Eve dinner will be on offer at Spice
restaurant, while the Suku restaurant will be serving Christmas
fare for breakfast, brunch and lunch.
The Conrad welcomes all children to participate in a variety
of games from 10 a.m. to 12 and 4 p.m to 6 p.m. on Dec. 23 and
Dec. 24, and 9:30 p.m. on Dec. 25.
The Bali Hilton in Nusa Dua will be offering numerous
Christmas events starting on the eve of the holiday, with
caroling filling the hotel lobby from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.,
while Christmas Day will open with games for children.
The Grand Hyatt will hold a Christmas Eve Mass at the Grand
Ballroom from 10:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., followed by Holy
Communion from 11:45 p.m. to 12 midnight. The service will be in
English.
The island's hotels, including Hard Rock, the Westin, Melia
Bali and others, all have a variety of Christmas celebrations on
offer to spread goodwill and cheer, as do restaurants, cafes,
villas and other prestigious establishments. -- JP
