Bali Immigration Detains Three Ghanaian Foreign Nationals Suspected of Using Fake Investor Permits
Denpasar (ANTARA) - The Denpasar Immigration Office in Bali has detained three foreign nationals from Ghana for allegedly entering Indonesia using fraudulent limited stay permits as bogus investors and without clear immigration documents.
“We are still examining the three of them further,” said the Head of Denpasar Immigration, R. Haryo Sakti, in Denpasar on Friday.
The three Ghanaian nationals are initialled SKY, aged 46, ENA, aged 44, and IA, aged 49.
They were escorted to the Denpasar Immigration Office for questioning after being caught in the Dharma Dewata immigration operation.
Immigration Intelligence and Enforcement officers had previously received reports from the public regarding the three foreign nationals suspected of violating immigration rules.
The officers then visited the residence of the three African continent nationals at one of the accommodations in the Pemogan area, South Denpasar.
Based on immigration crossing data, the three entered Indonesia via Ngurah Rai Airport, Bali, at the end of 2025 and were known to hold limited stay permits as investors.
However, during the examination, officers found several irregularities, namely that ENA and IA could not show their original passports. Meanwhile, SKY was unable to clearly explain the company that sponsored his investment.
“This supervision is carried out to maintain order and ensure that the presence of foreign nationals has a positive impact on Bali,” he said.
In addition to tightening supervision, the Dharma Dewata Task Force also plays a role in providing quick responses to various potential violations.
The presence of the operation is expected to be able to suppress the number of law violations by foreign nationals in order to increase the sense of security in the midst of society, as well as serve as a direct immigration education medium in the field.
Based on data from the Bali Regional Office of the Directorate General of Immigration, from 1 January to 12 April 2026, Bali Immigration has carried out Immigration Administrative Actions in the form of 165 deportations and 62 detection actions.
