Bali hosts chess meet

JAKARTA (JP): Fifty-six chess players are taking part in the qualifying rounds of the 14th National Games in Kuta, Bali.

The qualifying tournament was opened on Monday and will end on Nov. 5. The participants include three women's master internationals, Upi Damayana Tamin, Maria Ratna and Lisa Lumondong.

The men's competition uses a round-robin system, the women's the Swiss system. (arf)
