Bali Hilton clarifies

I refer to the article published in The Jakarta Post on Sunday, March 2, 2003 titled Bali hotels focus on locals to stay afloat

Bali Hilton International did not say that it has slashed its room rate from US$120 to $50. The hotel stated that the mix of clients can and does influence the achieved rate of the hotel. Currently, with the domestic market making up larger than normal percentage of the business, the achieved rate of the hotel has dropped from about $75 to about $60.

The hotel has not engaged in excessive price cuts and does not intend to do so as this would damage the long-term reputation of Bali as a quality destination.
