Bali has mangrove information center

JAKARTA: Minister of Forestry M. Prakosa inaugurated the
Mangrove Information Center on Tuesday in Denpasar, Bali, which
was built by the government with assistance from the Japanese
government.

Also attending the inauguration ceremony were Bali governor I
Dewa Made Berathe, Director General for Land Rehabilitation at
the Ministry of Forestry Surachmanto Hutomo and Japanese
Counselor Satoshi Suzuki and a Japan International Cooperation
Agency (JICA) representative.

According to a press release of the Japanese Embassy, Satoshi
said during the center's opening ceremony that the center was
expected to play an important role as a key center not only for
Indonesia but also for Asia Pacific region.

He also said domestic and foreign tourists were expected to
visit the center. --JP
