Bali Governor Shares Tourism Strategies with the Philippines
Culture, nature, and the hospitality of the community are the main strengths of Bali’s tourism that must continue to be maintained and preserved.
Denpasar (ANTARA) - Bali Governor Wayan Koster received a visit from Siquijor Governor Jake Vincent Sarmiento Villa from the Philippines to share Bali’s tourism strategies.
“Culture, nature, and the hospitality of the community are the main strengths of Bali’s tourism that must continue to be maintained and preserved,” said Koster in a statement from the Bali Provincial Government in Denpasar on Tuesday.
He conveyed three things, namely building tourism with the strengths of culture and beautiful nature as well as the hospitality of the Balinese people, which is a basic asset not possessed by other regions and continues to be preserved.
Koster recounted that since the beginning of his tenure as governor, the Bali Provincial Government has continued to strengthen its commitment to maintaining the preservation of nature and the environment through various strategic policies.
In addition, the Bali Provincial Government has also implemented source-based waste management policies to create a more effective and sustainable waste management system.
“This policy is part of efforts to keep Bali’s nature clean, healthy, and sustainable; environmental preservation is one of the main priorities because Bali’s nature is an important asset that supports community life as well as the tourism sector,” said Wayan Koster.
Furthermore, a strong cultural identity becomes a unique attraction for both international and domestic tourists to Bali.
Governor Koster hopes that this meeting with the Siquijor Governor goes beyond sharing tourism strategies but also opens up opportunities for cooperation in various fields, especially in the tourism, culture, and human resource development sectors.
Siquijor Governor from the Philippines, Jake Vincent Sarmiento Villa, stated that his presence is indeed to learn how Bali’s tourism can develop as it is today.
He sees that Bali has strong attractions and is able to maintain its existence as an international tourist destination.
“Our arrival in Bali is to learn how Bali’s tourism can develop as it is today until it becomes one of the world’s tourist destinations,” he said.
Through this visit, the Siquijor Governor seeks to learn and obtain input and strategic points from the Bali Governor regarding the development of the tourism industry in Bali, considering that his province is also a tourist area in the Philippines.
In that friendly meeting, the two governors exchanged data and statistics regarding the tourism sector as well as the development of their respective regions.
