Bali Governor Koster Calls on Youth to Drive Development on Province's 68th Anniversary
Gubernur Bali Wayan Koster led the ceremony for the 68th anniversary of the Province of Bali at the Niti Mandala Renon Field in Denpasar this morning. The commemoration carried the theme ‘Suci Lascarya, Nusa Wijaya’, which means sincere and wholehearted dedication for the glory of Bali.
In his speech, Koster invited the younger generation of Bali to take part in ensuring the success of the Bali Era Baru 2025-2125 development plan, a 100-year vision that has been formalised in Regional Regulation (Perda) No. 4 of 2023. ‘I invite all components of Balinese society and the younger generation, let us implement and succeed the Bali development programme for the 2025-2030 period in order to build a solid foundation for the success of the future 100-year Bali Era Baru development plan,’ Koster said on Friday (14/8/2026).
On the occasion, Koster also outlined priority sectors for his second term as Governor of Bali. He emphasised that customs, religion, arts, culture, and local wisdom are the main priorities of the Provincial Government of Bali. ‘Development in Bali is carried out with a planned universal development pattern, which is patterned, comprehensive, planned, directed, and integrated within a single territorial unit: one island, one pattern, and one governance,’ Koster stated.
According to Koster, Bali as a province has undergone a long journey since 1958. He considers the anniversary of the Province of Bali as a momentum to reflect on various development achievements on the Island of the Gods. ‘The commemoration of the Anniversary of the Province of Bali is not merely about remembering the historical journey of the establishment of the Province of Bali, but is a momentum to reflect on various development achievements, as well as to strengthen our resolve and commitment in building Bali going forward,’ he added.
One of the achievements that Koster believes should be appreciated is the ratification of Law No. 15 of 2023 concerning the Province of Bali. The law regulates cultural characteristics, institutional strengthening through traditional villages, and the advancement of Balinese culture.
