Bali governor goes to Nusa Penida
DENPASAR: Governor Dewa Beratha took part in a big ritual, known as Karya Agung Jagat Arnawa, held by the Nusa Penida islanders on Wednesday.
Nusa Penida island, located some 120 kilometers southeast of Denpasar, is under the auspices of Klungkung regency.
Accompanied by an adjutant, the governor flew to the island by helicopter and participated in a mass prayer with thousands of the islanders.
The governor also handed over Rp 50 million for the success of the ritual, the first of its kind held by Nusa Penida islanders. --Antara
