Bali Forms Team to Advance Green Energy Cooperation with Ningxia
Denpasar (ANTARA) – The Bali Provincial Government has formed a special team to coordinate and draw up concrete cooperation plans with the government of China’s Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region in areas including culture, tourism, trade, agriculture and green energy.
“Following up on this meeting, a team should be formed to communicate and formulate cooperation plans,” Bali Governor Wayan Koster said when receiving the Ningxia delegation.
In an official statement issued in Denpasar on Thursday, Koster also expressed his appreciation for the delegation’s visit and voiced full support for strengthening inter-regional cooperation between the two countries.
“I welcome the follow-up to cooperation between the Indonesian and Chinese governments. We fully support the proposed cooperation,” he said.
He explained that the Bali Provincial Government is currently focused on developing clean energy and battery electric vehicles as part of efforts to achieve sustainable development in Bali.
Green energy is therefore considered one of the areas with the greatest potential for in-depth exploration through mutually beneficial collaboration with Ningxia.
Koster also said he plans to visit China in November 2026. A visit to Ningxia could be considered and fitted into his existing schedule to strengthen communication and explore cooperation opportunities in person.
Dou Jingli, head of the delegation and a member of the Standing Committee of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region Party Committee, thanked the Bali Provincial Government for its welcome and hospitality.
She said the visit was part of efforts to follow up on cooperation agreements between the Indonesian and Chinese governments.
“We thank the Governor for receiving our delegation in Bali. We hope this meeting will allow us to exchange views on various programmes implemented in Bali and explore opportunities for future cooperation,” Dou said.
Ningxia also has considerable potential in natural resources, tourism, agriculture, trade and green energy, which could provide a basis for developing a strategic partnership between the two sides.
Ningxia has so far established formal cooperation ties with 69 cities or provinces in countries around the world. Dou said she hoped Bali could become one of its next partners through the development of sustainable inter-regional cooperation.
“We hope the relationship between Ningxia Hui and Bali can grow closer. There are many areas we can develop together, particularly culture and tourism, trade, agriculture and green energy,” she said.
In culture and tourism, Ningxia regards Bali as an international destination with extensive experience in tourism management that could serve as a basis for knowledge exchange.
The Ningxia delegation also proposed cooperation in trade, agriculture and green energy, which it hopes can be strengthened through a sister-province partnership as the foundation for a long-term relationship.
During the meeting, Dou Jingli also formally invited the Bali Governor to visit Ningxia to discuss cooperation opportunities in person.
