Bali Governor Wayan Koster has extended the odd-even system for purchasing fuel at all petrol stations. The measure will remain in force until Friday this week.

“We will extend the odd-even arrangement, which was due to end today, from tomorrow until Friday, 23 October,” he told reporters at the Sanggaran fuel terminal in Denpasar on Monday, 19 October 2026, as reported by detikBali.

Koster said the provincial government had introduced several measures to address fuel shortages in Bali, including work from home (WFH), online learning and the odd-even system.

He said fuel deliveries to several petrol stations under the system had run smoothly from Saturday, 17 October, to Monday, 19 October. Vehicle queues had also begun to ease and had disappeared at some stations.

“From Saturday and Sunday through to today, fuel supplies to petrol stations have generally run smoothly and the queues are no longer extensive. There are no queues at some stations; vehicles are already inside the petrol station forecourts,” he said.

At a meeting with Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia and PT Pertamina (Persero) president director Simon Aloysius Mantiri, Koster said current fuel stocks were estimated to be sufficient for Bali’s needs for the next 11 to 12 days.

“The minister said at the meeting that stocks are available and sufficient for the next 11 to 12 days, and that they will be increased further. We in the regions will also help Pertamina carry out its work on the ground,” he said.
