The Bali Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD) has requested that the Bali Financial and Asset Management Agency (BPKAD) resolve the land dispute between state assets and residents in Pecatu, Badung. This was conveyed by the Chair of the DPRD Bali TRAP Special Committee, I Made Suparta, during a meeting with the Head of BPKAD Bali and the Head of the Badung Land Office at the DPRD Bali office on Thursday (9/4/2026).

“Because this concerns the public through their letters to us, I think the public’s issues should be addressed with solutions; they shouldn’t be left unclear and hanging,” said Suparta.

Suparta assessed that BPKAD has taken too long to respond to letters from the public regarding the problematic 15-hectare land case. He urged the government to respond quickly and clarify the land’s status in the near future.

“As our colleagues expected earlier, there’s actually no need for us to drag this out regarding the previous matter so that the letters can be answered,” explained the PDIP politician.

Meanwhile, the Head of BPKAD Bali, I Ketut Maduyasa, explained that the land indeed has a fairly complicated history. Of the total 15 hectares, 2.9 hectares are indeed state-owned. However, the land has already been subdivided into plots.

“So, as BPKAD, we are cautious to avoid legal issues, and we are not idle; we have already conducted discussions,” said Maduyasa.

He needs time to delve into this case with the Badung Land Office, including the subdivided lands.

“Because the authority lies with the BPN, whether in digital or manual form. Perhaps after the meeting with the BPN, we can determine it,” he explained.

The Head of the Badung Land Office, Wayan Sukiana, added that the public should wait to see whether the land is registered as state land or not.

“How the product is—old or new—needs further research on what’s there, because one of the certificates was issued in 1998, and the other in 2005. So we still need time,” Sukiana stated.
