Bali DPRD Cuts Official Travel Budget by Rp 21 Billion
The Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD) of Bali has cut the budget for official travel, including fuel, by 10 per cent, amounting to approximately Rp 21 billion. This was stated by the Secretary of the Council (Sekwan) of Bali DPRD, Ketut Nayaka, when met at the DPRD Bali office on Monday (6/4/2026). “Yes, the direction is for official travel, then meals and drinks, fuel like that, 10 per cent. The nominal amount, if I’m not mistaken, is around Rp 21 billion plus. It’s already set at that amount,” said Nayaka. Nayaka explained that the official travel budget, including overseas trips, has also been reduced. This cut is part of an efficiency policy that must be implemented in every Regional Work Unit (OPD). This includes a work-from-home (WFH) policy every Friday. Nayaka said that according to the circular he received, only echelon two officials would come to the office, accompanied by a few echelon three officials who have specific interests. “If it’s not urgent, just the echelon two, the council secretary, and the protocol secretary,” he added. Nayaka stated that there would be an attendance mechanism through an application for civil servants working from home. All tasks would be carried out virtually without any physical documents. Nayaka explained that all budget efficiencies are regulated in the Main 2026 Regional Budget (APBD). The budget will focus on urgent needs such as damaged facilities, restoring mangrove forest functions, sedimentation, and road repairs.
