Bali Declares Itself Global Wellness Destination at BWB Expo 2026
Bali will declare itself the world’s best wellness destination at the Bali Wellness and Beauty Expo (BWB Expo) 2026, held from 4-6 June 2026 at the Bali Beach Convention Center in Sanur.
The second edition of the expo will reinforce Bali’s position as one of Southeast Asia’s largest and most influential wellness hubs.
Diah Permana Tirtawati, co-founder and director of BWB Expo 2026, said this year’s event shows significant growth compared to last year. Over 140 leading brands and 90 national and international exhibitors are confirmed to participate. Attendees come from countries including Japan, Singapore, the United States, Australia, India, and various regions in Indonesia.
‘Compared to last year, exhibitor numbers have increased by 12.5%, while brand growth has reached 33.6%. This strengthens BWB Expo’s position as one of Southeast Asia’s largest wellness and beauty platforms,’ Diah said on Tuesday, 26 May 2026.
Bali’s Strength
According to Diah, Bali has strong potential as a wellness destination due to its local culture, healing traditions, and internationally recognised hospitality. She believes this potential is driving the growth of Bali’s wellness market, attracting international tourists.
‘Indonesia possesses vast traditions, culture, and local wisdom in wellness. Through BWB Expo, we aim to showcase these potentials to the world and open wider collaboration opportunities for Indonesia’s wellness industry,’ she said.
Diah also compared BWB Expo’s reception in Bali with similar events in Malaysia, noting that Bali’s event received much stronger interest from industry players and visitors. ‘After the event was held in Bali, it was very crowded with high enthusiasm,’ she added.
In 2025, BWB Expo recorded around 3,000 visitors with total transactions of $2 million. This year, organisers aim for at least 5,000 visitors.
‘We aim for at least 5,000 visitors this year, with transactions rising to $3 million. This does not include transactions from participating MSMEs,’ she said.
Bali Tourism
Meanwhile, BWB Expo co-founder Ketut Jaman emphasised that developing Bali as a global wellness tourism hub is not just an economic opportunity but also a way to return Bali’s tourism to its cultural and local philosophical roots.
He stated that the Tri Hita Karana concept and Usadha Bali healing traditions are crucial foundations for building quality, sustainable tourism.
‘Authentic, community-based wellness approaches will be key to developing higher quality, sustainable tourism that delivers more equitable economic impact,’ Ketut Jaman said.
BWB Expo 2026 will also mark the declaration of the Indonesia Wellness and Beauty Entrepreneurs Association (IWBEA), a national collaboration platform expected to strengthen synergy between government, industry, academia, communities, and business actors in developing Indonesia’s wellness and beauty sector.
The event is supported by several ministries and strategic institutions, including the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Health, Ministry of MSMEs, Bali Provincial Government, KADIN Bali, Bali Tourism Board (BTB), PHRI Bali, and ASITA Bali.
Wellness and longevity trends continue to grow globally, including in Indonesia. The presence of queens is not only an international attraction but also opens cultural diplomacy through lifestyle and wellness approaches.
