Bali bomb victims join U.S. lawsuit

AUSTRALIA: Australian survivors and relatives of those who died in the Bali nightclub bombings have joined a U.S. lawsuit against the alleged financiers and supporters of al-Qaeda that seeks trillions of dollars in compensation.

"This will never bring Anthony back, but if we stop the funding to the terrorists, we might save some other lives," Dave Stewart, who lost his son Anthony when a bomb destroyed Bali's Sari Club last October, said on Monday.

"If we take a $100 million off these dead heads, then that's a $100 million less bombs they can use on other people," said Stewart who has joined the U.S. suit.

Eighty-eight Australians were killed when bombs ripped through two nightclubs in Kuta Beach, Bali's main tourist strip, on Oct. 12. Nearly 200 people, mostly foreign tourists, died in the bombings. --Reuters
