Bali Arts Festival 2026 Schedule: Innovative Gamelan and Classical Palegongan Parade
Art and culture enthusiasts are encouraged to visit the Pesta Kesenian Bali (PKB) 2026 today, Monday, 22 June 2026. The 48th edition of this annual festival, organised by the Bali Provincial Government, runs for a full month until 11 July, with most events centred at the Taman Budaya Bali (Bali Art Centre) in Denpasar. Today’s programme features a Rekasadana (performance) of innovative gamelan and a parade of classical Palegongan dance.
The schedule for PKB today, Monday, 22 June 2026, is as follows:
At 11:00 WITA, a Wimbakara (competition) of Taman Penasar will be held at Kalangan Ratna Kanda, Art Centre, Denpasar, performed by Sanggar Seni Manik Asta Gina from Desa Baluk, Negara District, representing Jembrana Regency.
At 15:00 WITA, a Rekasadana (performance) of Innovative Gamelan will take place at Kalangan Angsoka, Art Centre, Denpasar, presented by Sanggar Seni Gargita Shanti from Br. Pacung, Desa Sangeh, Abiansemal District, representing Badung Regency.
At 17:00 WITA, an Utsawa (parade) of Nglawang will be held around the Taman Budaya area in Denpasar, performed by the Komunitas Seni Sanggar Gender Mas from Kelurahan Beng, Gianyar District, representing Gianyar Regency.
Also at 17:00 WITA, an Utsawa (parade) of Classical Palegongan will take place at Gedung Ksirarnawa, Art Centre, Denpasar, featuring Sekaa Gong Panji Gita Semara from Banjar Budaga, Kelurahan Semarapura Kauh, representing Klungkung Regency, and Gambelan Suling Gita Semara from Banjar Tengah, Desa Peliatan, Ubud District, representing Gianyar Regency.
At 18:30 WITA, a Rekasadana (performance) of Drama Gong will be staged at Kalangan Ayodya, Art Centre, Denpasar, by Sanggar Seni Nong Nong Kling from Buleleng District, Buleleng Regency.
At 19:30 WITA, an Utsawa (parade) of Children’s Gong Kebyar will be held at the Ardha Candra Open Stage, Art Centre, Denpasar, featuring Sekaa Gong Kebyar Anak-anak Gita Kumara Shanti from Desa Adat Dukuh, Kelurahan Padangkerta, Karangasem District, representing Karangasem Regency, with Sanggar Tari dan Tabuh Pentas Marak Lestari from Desa Bubunan, Seririt District, Buleleng Regency as the accompanying group.
