The 48th Bali Arts Festival (PKB) in 2026 attracted 1.8 million visitors, according to Bali Governor Wayan Koster during his speech at the event’s closing ceremony. Average daily attendance reached 62,000 people, an 11% increase from the previous year, while the number of foreign tourist visits totalled 5,700, a 137% surge from just 2,400 in 2025. “I myself watched 16 times, and missed 13 times. I could not attend due to important matters, even losing sleep over it. I am a die-hard fan of the Bali Arts Festival,” Koster said at the Art Centre in Denpasar on Saturday (11/7/2026). Beyond serving as a platform for artists, the PKB also provides opportunities for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to boost their sales. According to Koster, total sales turnover from the 74 culinary stalls at PKB 2026 reached IDR 5 billion. “Last year it was IDR 4.9 billion. Now it has increased by another IDR 100 million,” he stated. Meanwhile, the Bali Bangkit small and medium industry (IKM) stands at PKB 2026, comprising 124 traders, also generated a total profit of IDR 11.3 billion. “So if you total the culinary and IKM sales, it is more than IDR 16 billion. A round of applause for our culinary sector,” Koster said. After presenting these figures, Koster immediately announced the 2026 Festival Bali Jani. He emphasised that Bali continuously organises arts and cultural events. “The Festival Bali Jani programme includes performances, parades, competitions, workshops, symposiums, exhibitions, book fairs, and the awarding of the Bali Jani Nugraha prize,” explained the Bali Governor, who hails from Sambiran Village in Buleleng.
