Bali & Beyond Travel Fair 2026 Set to Launch, Targeting 400 Buyers from 47 Countries
The Bali & Beyond Travel Fair (BBTF) 2026, the 12th edition, is set to take place at The Westin Resort & Spa Nusa Dua from 28 to 30 May 2026. This year, BBTF is targeted to feature 400 buyers from 47 countries and 250 sellers.
BBTF 2026 Committee Chairman I Putu Winastra stated that the market focus this year is directed towards Western Europe, Australia, East Asia, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and India. BBTF 2026 is also expanding to markets with high purchasing power potential and interest in experiential tourism.
“Last year, BBTF successfully brought hundreds of buyers from various countries, and this year we see even stronger enthusiasm from the international market,” Winastra said during the Road to BBTF 2026 press conference on Monday (30/3/2026).
BBTF 2026 adopts the theme ‘Redefining Indonesia’s Gastronomy Journey: A Celebration of Taste, Culture, and Sustainable Heritage’. Gastronomy was chosen as the main theme because it is considered capable of uniting identity, tradition, community, and creative economy competitiveness in a strong narrative.
“Because gastronomy is the strongest way to tell Indonesia’s story, through taste, culture, and identity,” he explained.
The theme also affirms the strategic direction of Indonesian tourism, which increasingly prioritises quality experiences, cultural strength, and measurable sustainability practices, without sidelining direct experiences and interactions.
“Todays tourists are seeking something deeper. They want to feel local life, stories, and authentic culture,” said Winastra, who is also the Chairman of the Bali DPD ASITA.
Winastra acknowledged that this year’s BBTF is taking place amid geopolitical tensions in the Middle East region, which affect travel confidence, flight routes, and operational costs in the industry.
“We all understand that tourism is the sector that feels the impact the fastest, while for Bali, this sector is the backbone of the economy and community life. However, it is precisely in situations like this that a destination is tested, and Bali understands that role,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is promoting the BBTF 2026 event to all Indonesian representatives abroad through Indonesian embassies and consulates. As of 28 March 2026, 27 buyers have registered, from the Indonesian Embassy in Yangon, Karachi, the Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, Vienna, Manila, and Nairobi.
