Denpasar (ANTARA) - Bali’s I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport recorded nearly 942,000 passengers over the 15 days of the Eid Transport Post operation. “Passenger services over the 15 days of the 2026 Eid transport post reached 941,956 passengers, representing a growth of 0.3 percent compared to 2025,” said Gede Eka Sandi Asmadi, Head of the Communication and Legal Division at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport. Eka Sandi, in a statement in Denpasar on Saturday, noted that the total passenger traffic from 13-27 March 2026 had already surpassed the same period in 2025, which saw 934,754 passengers. The total of 941,956 passengers was divided into 417,567 domestic passengers, consisting of 218,260 arrivals and 199,307 departures, and 524,389 international passengers, comprising 267,467 arrivals and 256,922 departures. During this extended holiday period for Nyepi and Eid al-Fitr, the total aircraft movements at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport amounted to 5,705, consisting of 2,827 domestic flights and 2,878 international movements. Eka Sandi stated that the high volume of aircraft movements was also supported by the realisation of additional flights. “There were 218 additional flights serviced over the 15 days, with the most frequent routes including Jakarta (CGK) with 104 aircraft movements, Surabaya (SUB) with 50 aircraft movements, and Lombok (LOP) with 24 aircraft movements,” he said. Meanwhile, 23 March was the day with the highest total passenger services during the 15-day Eid transport post period in 2026, reaching 72,139 passengers. However, Eka Sandi reminded that the Eid Transport Post continues until its closure on 30 March to ensure the smooth flow of all Eid travel processes.
