Bali Airport Predicts Eid al-Fitr Homecoming Traffic of 73,000 Passengers in 2026

Bali’s I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport recorded 595,000 passenger movements over the 10 days of the Eid al-Fitr transport post operations in 2026. This figure represents a 4% growth compared to the same period last year. General Manager of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Nugroho Jati, stated that PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (InJourney Airports), the airport operator, also noted growth in aircraft movements at the airport. “During the period from 13 to 22 March 2026, 3,623 aircraft movements were handled, a 5% increase from the same period in last year’s Eid transport post,” Nugroho Jati said in a written statement on Monday (23/3). He also conveyed that flight operations and services to users ran optimally during the Eid transport post. Amid the traffic growth during this Eid transport period, I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport is committed to always providing optimal services to all users during the holiday season. “We can report that flight operations, airport services, and services to all airport users ran smoothly, optimally, and safely,” he said. Additionally, the peak inbound movement occurred on Wednesday (18/3) with 71,442 passenger movements and 412 aircraft movements. “We project the peak return movement to occur on Saturday (28/3) with a projection of 73,000 passengers,” he explained. He elaborated that I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport also recorded the busiest routes during the 10-day Eid transport period. For domestic routes, the top three busiest were Tangerang (CGK), Surabaya (SUB), and Lombok Praya (LOP). For international routes, they were Singapore (SIN), Kuala Lumpur (KUL), and Perth (PER). Up to 22 March 2026, I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport had handled 104 additional flights or extra flights out of 144 requests. The routes with the most extra flights were Denpasar (DPS)-Tangerang (CGK) return, Denpasar (DPS)-Surabaya (SUB) return, and Denpasar (DPS)-Semarang (SRG) return.
