Bali against prostitution

DENPASAR, Bali: Bali Governor Ida Bagus Oka said the provincial administration will take stern action against high- class prostitution rackets operating in the area.

Oka said he was deeply concerned at the suggestion that Bali has been a target of high-class prostitution syndicates.

"What people should know is that tourism in Bali is not linked to the sex industry. Bali does not tolerate the presence of brothels," he said as quoted by Antara.

The authorities suspect that two houses on Jl. Raya Puputan and WR. Supratman in Denpasar are being used as brothels. (par)
