Baleg Agrees to Bring PPRT Bill to DPR Plenary Session for Approval Tomorrow, Here's What's Inside
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Legislation Body (Baleg) of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) has agreed on the revision of the Domestic Workers Protection Bill (RUU PPRT) to be brought to level II or the plenary session on Tuesday (21/4/2026).
This agreement was reached during the plenary meeting on the RUU PPRT between the DPR RI Baleg and the Government held on Monday (20/4/2026).
“Can the results of the discussion on the revision of the Domestic Workers Protection Act be further processed in accordance with statutory regulations if approved?” said Deputy Speaker of the DPR RI Sufmi Dasco during the meeting on Monday.
“With approval, a plenary session will be scheduled in the near future. Insha’Allah tomorrow,” Dasco emphasised.
This decision was made after eight factions in the DPR RI Baleg expressed their views on the results of the RUU PPRT discussion and agreed to have it promptly approved through the plenary session.
Meanwhile, government representatives present included Minister of Law Supratman Andi Agtas, Deputy Minister for State Secretariat Bambang Eko Suhariyanto, and Deputy Minister of Manpower Afriansyah Noor.
The Baleg leadership included Baleg Chairman Bob Hasan, Deputy Chairman Sturman Pandjaitan, and Ahmad Iman Sukri.
With this determination, the RUU PPRT will be approved in the nearest plenary session held by the DPR RI.
Baleg DPR RI Chairman Bob Hasan stated that the working committee (Panja) for discussing the RUU PPRT was formed during the Baleg working meeting on 20 April 2026 and immediately discussed the draft intensively on the same day in the Baleg meeting room.
He also conveyed that the RUU PPRT is an initiative proposal from the DPR RI, so in the level I discussion, the inventory of problems list (DIM) was submitted by the government.
According to him, the government submitted a total of 409 DIMs consisting of 231 permanent DIMs, 55 editorial DIMs, 23 new substantive DIMs, and 100 DIMs to be deleted.
He added that all these DIMs have in principle been resolved.
“Ladies and gentlemen, in the Panja meeting, constructive debates took place, ultimately resulting in decisions on norm formulations that are expected to provide solutions to problems related to domestic workers,” said Bob during the meeting on Monday.
